Science of Reading
The Science of Reading project focuses on supporting literacy-focused professional development modules to inform teacher pedagogy and practice in the Science of Reading. This project will serve hundreds of Louisiana educators and impact thousands of Louisiana learners.
This project includes 12 modules of study aligned to the latest research grounded in the science of reading. Modules will be structured around engaging techniques that represent a variety of interaction within an online platform, including but not limited to videos, quizzes, word sorts, articles, and application in the classroom. Materials will promote the development of literacy knowledge with a balance of explanation and application providing teachers with an in-depth understanding of how to teach students how to read and write aligned to the science of reading. Each module embeds the needs of diverse learners.
